The HERITOUR project is co-funded by European Community in the INTERREG IIIB CADSES programme intends to protect cultural heritage in rural areas through sustainable development. To achieve the project goal during the implementation we develop cultural thematic routes both in regional and trans-national level. Parallel with the product development feasibility studies, marketing studies, and common database, architectural planning will be elaborated.
The initiation is originated in a small village called Kislőd in Hungary. There are 14 partners (10 financed and 4 observer) involved in this project 3 Greek, 2 Italian, 1 Slovakian, 5 Hungarian, 1 Czech and 2 Romanian. The project duration: 07/07/2005-31/12/2007, the total amount of budget allocation is 2 205 600 EUR.

The project's main objective is the protection, thematic organisation and promotion of local cultural heritage in remote/rural/montanious/border areas in forms of regional and transnational cultural routes. This objective is intended to be reached by carrying out the following main activities: Assessment of local cultural heritage Elaboration of feasibility studies and marketing strategies on possible transnational thematic routes and on needed investments Architectural planning activities for investment (cultural heritage included in the thematic route where protection is needed, tourist access infrastructure) Implementation of marketing tools suggested by the tansnational marketing strategy. |
